This is Daryl Johnson. He is a very smart guy because he went to G&G Interiors last night to buy Valentine's gifts for his lovely wife, Lynn. Let him be your role model. This is what success looks like!
So, it’s the day before Valentine’s Day and you have not bought your significant other a gift. Because I value all you Blue Streak readers and I worry about you, I am going to come to your rescue — especially you men who have been putting off this important task.
Last night, our fabulous client G&G Interiors in Bearden hosted a special “Bourbon and Burgers” evening for men only. The idea was that the guys could come in after the store closed, have a little nip or two and be guided by the expert staff through a wide variety of options.
They allowed me in so The Blue Streak could get a look at what the guys were buying. If you didn’t make it, I’m going to show you some of the great things — ranging in price from under $100 to $500 and up. And, even more important, ranging in levels of intimacy from “just friends, don’t get the wrong idea,” to “love, love, love!”.
So, you’ve got today and tomorrow to get this done. I know you can do it. The staff there will be glad to help. Tell them The Blue Streak sent you.

Here are Andrew Miller and Jamie Denovo. She works at G&G Interiors and knows the products there inside and out. He was on hand last night to pour the bourbon! Tough job.

I do not know much about bourbon -- except that I have to keep Maker's Mark on hand for my friend Richard's Mahattan cocktails. I tasted both of these last night and was amazed by the difference between them.

Customer Sid Blalock considers the offerings.

Food, from Bistro by the Tracks, was awesome, too. Here are lamb sliders.

And duck sliders.

My favorite things were the risotto balls. Yum.

And for the dessert eaters like my husband, key lime cheesecake bites.

And salted caramel chocolate cake.
OK. Let’s look at some of those gifts.

I'm not saying he bought any of this, but here is Daryl Johnson at the Jan Barboglio table. She has stunning pieces. Alan got me one for Christmas. Highly recommend a visit to this table!

This Jan Barboglio cheese plate is perfect for serving a little pre-dinner snack. Romantic with some wine.

And how pretty is this vase, also by Jan Barboglio?

Dr. Jeff Jennings was flipping through some beautiful coffee table books.

G&G Interiors has a wide variety from which to choose.

Look at this stunning votive candle holder!

Would you rather have it in black?

Shannon Harper and Nick Davis were among the shoppers last night.

You can't go wrong with a beautiful Ralph Lauren picture frame.

Or a vase by Ralph Lauren

Think a wearable gift might be more to her liking? There are dozens of lovely -- and soft -- scarves and shawls from which to choose.

Or a pretty little clutch.
If you have the kind of spouse or girlfriend who is really into talking about or analyzing your relationship — and if you ARE in a serious relationship — she will love this book.

This is a fill-in-the-blank book that poses all kinds of questions for you and your partner to answer, some funny and some serious.
Pretty scary, huh? OK, let’s go back to some “safe” gifts. These you can even give to your mother or sister.

Everyone can use a pretty pitcher.

A pink glass vase is nice -- and the color is right for Valentine's Day.

Candlestick holders, perhaps?
Or, more casual and less expensive?

Everyone loves a great-smelling candle.

Or room spray.

Or luxurious lotion.

Sid Blalock, left, and Terrell Burkhart were taking it all in. I know both their wives and am sure they will be very happy with the selections.

If you are looking for something serious, there is a breathtaking range of jewelry from which to choose.

You definitely should throw in some gourmet chocolate by Julia Baker. There is even a local connection -- she is the girlfriend of Ken Lowe, president, chairman and CEO of Scripps Networks Interactive, headquartered here!
Need something for a young Valentine?

They've got you covered!

Aren't these adorable?

So here is your goal. You want to walk out of there with something that looks like this!

They even have Valentine's cards to go with your selection.

But hurry up! Tick-tock, tick-tock!
